Hydrocoll is a dressing hydrocolloïdal self-adherent and absorbent, covered with a film of polyurethane-ventilated, water-resistant to germs and water. Upon contact with the exudates of the wound, the particles hydrocolloïdales of the dressing swell up and turn into a gel which expands into the wound and keeps it moist.

The gel provides the absorption of the exudate, until the saturation of the particles hydrocolloïdales.
