The amount of carbohydrate available is a determining factor for performance in endurance sports and exercises intermittent high-intensity (alternating exercises and short breaks). This is why it is important to supplement the carbohydrate reserves before and during this type of exercises. They ensure the maintenance of blood glucose levels during the workout and replenish the reserves of muscle glycogen (stored sugar in muscles).
Carbo-Gy is a drink hypertonic. To know that the number of particles contained in the beverage is greater than the number of particles present in the blood and that it aims primarily to provide energy. Carbo-Gy contains carbohydrates at a rate of 13.2% per 100 ml. It is, therefore, the energy drink ideal. Carbo-Gy is a drink hyperconcentrée in carbohydrates that you can drink hot or cold.
Etixx Carbo-Gy has a double purpose: 1) to recharge in carbohydrates and 2) energy drink to consume during exercise.
- As charging of carbohydrates: the recharging of the carbohydrates is to store carbohydrates (absorb 10 to 12g of carbohydrates per kg of body weight per day) on the eve of the exercise, in order to have a maximum of muscle glycogen prior to the competition. It has been shown that a charging of carbohydrate was able to improve the performance during prolonged exercise (marathon, triathlon, swimming long distances) and prolong the endurance in team sports with repeated sprints of high intensity (such as football).
- As energy drink during exercise: Carbo-Gy is recommended in the course of a year effected by cold weather (< 10 °C), when energized premium on the full of liquid. In addition, it is an ideal beverage for athletes who do not have much time to drink during the match (in the sports hall for example).
In the absence of a consumption of carbohydrates during prolonged exercise, the muscular glycogen reserves would be depleted after about 90 min. How much carbohydrates should you eat during exercise? (Illustration)
- Exercise < 1 h (15): no need to consume carbohydrate during exercise.
- Exercises 1-2 h: 30g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise.
- Exercises 2-3 h: 60g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise.
- Exercises >2,5-3 h: up to 90g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise.
