APOTEX.
Ibucaps belongs to a group of medicines referred to as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). These drugs provide relief by changing the body's response to pain and a high temperature. Ibucaps is broken down easily in the body, and the active substance, which is released from the capsule, is easily absorbed by the body to quickly reach the place of the pain.
Ibucaps is used for the symptomatic treatment of short duration :
of mild to moderate pain, such as headache, dental pain, menstrual pain;
of the fever and the pain resulting from a cold.
The active substance is ibuprofen. Each capsule contains 200 mg of ibuprofen.
- The other ingredients are :
o Core : macrogol 600, potassium hydroxide (E525), purified water.
o capsule shell : gelatin (E441), sorbitol liquid, partially dehydrated (E420), purified water.
o printing Ink : opacode NS-78-18011 (composition : purified water, titanium dioxide (E171), propylene glycol (E1520), isopropyl alcohol, HPMC 2910/Hypermellose 3cP).
o Trace elements : isopropyl alcohol, medium chain triglycerides, soy lecithin.
For adults and adolescents weighing more than 40 kg :
Dose primary : 1 or 2 capsules (200 mg or 400 mg ibuprofen) with water. If necessary, a dose extra of 1 or 2 capsules (200 mg or 400 mg ibuprofen) can be taken, but do NOT take more than 6 capsules per 24 hours.
The interval between shots may not be less than 4 hours for a 200-mg dose and may not be less than 6 hours for a dose of 400 mg.
For children weighing 20 kg (approximately 6 years) to 39 kg :
Ibucaps can only be used in children weighing at least 20 kg. The maximum daily dose
of ibuprofen is 20 to 30 mg per kg of body weight, divided into 3 to 4 doses administered individually.
Do not exceed the recommended maximum daily dose. It should not exceed a maximum dosage of 30 mg/kg over a period of 24 hours.
The interval between shots may not be less than 6 hours.
