Creon 10000 is used by children and adults with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency . At this time, their pancreas does not produce enough enzymes to digest food. We find this often in people who have :

- cystic fibrosis, a rare genetic disease ;
- the channels of their pancreas or gall bladder are blocked (pancreatic ducts or bile duct) ;
- an attack of acute inflammation of the pancreas (acute pancreatitis). Creon 10000 can be used when food intake has started again ;
- a chronic inflammation of the pancreas (chronic pancreatitis) ;
- a cancer of the pancreas ;
- had part or all of their pancreas removed (pancreatectomy partial or total) ;
- had part or all of their stomach removed (partial gastrectomy or total) ;
- had a bypass surgery of the gastro-intestinal tract ;
- the syndrome Shwachman-Diamond, a genetic disease very rare.

Always take Creon 10000 during or after a meal. This will allow the enzymes to mix well with the food and digest it during the passage through the intestine.

The active substance is pancreatin 300 mg, equivalent to Amylase 18.000 U. Ph.Eur., Lipases 10000 U. Ph.Eur., Proteases 1.000 U. Ph.Eur.

The other components are :

The core of the pellet : macrogol 4000.
Coating : cetyl alcohol, methylhydroxypropylcellulose phthalate, dimethicone 1000, triethyl citrate.
Composition of the capsule shell : gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171), iron oxides (E172), laurylsulphate sodium
