Meda Pharma Colofiber Sachets 20 x 7 Granulés

Colofiber® (Plantago ovata Forsk) contains a blowing agent of plant origin, which helps to regularize bowel function. It works by increasing the volume of intestinal tract, softening the stool by a high water content, improving the consistency of the stools by uptake of water.

• Regularization of bowel function in the following cases
  • mucus fonctionnell
  • constipation due to slow transit of the colon (bedridden patients, pregnancy, ..)

Colofiber® must be swallowed without crunching with 1 or 2 glasses of water. It is recommended to drink 1 to 2 liters of fluid per day.

The position in bed is not recommended when taking Colofiber®.

The usual dose is :

Adults: 2 sachets every evening after the meal (at least 1 hour before bedtime).

If needed, 1 packet may also be taken in the morning before breakfast.

In case of any disorders of the functioning of the large intestine with diarrhea, it is recommended to take 2 sachets 3 times per day for 1 to 3 days, then 1 sachet 3 times per day if necessary.

Children: the dosage will be reduced by half compared to the dosage recommended for adults. In the case of persistent diarrhea severe not responding to Colofiber®, it is necessary to stop the treatment and control electrolytes (specifically potassium).
