Onyster Pommade 10g

ONYSTER® is advocated in the framework of the local treatment of fungal infections of the nails of the hands and feet.

HOW TO USE ONYSTER® ?

• Apply once daily on the infected nail the necessary quantity of ointment to fully cover the surface of the nail.
• Keep in place under an occlusive dressing for 24 h.
• Renew the application of the ointment and change the dressing every day, after you have removed the excess of the ointment to the previous application.
• Depending on the extent of the infringement, and the thickness of the nail, 1 to 3 weeks of treatment are needed.
• After 1 to 3 weeks of treatment, it is recommended to be cut by a health professional the part of the nail softened and was peeled off using a pair of nail scissors.
• After removal of the abnormal portion of the nail, antifungal treatment should be continued.

HOW DOES ONYSTER® ?

By its composition based on urea at 40 %,ONYSTER® allows you to weaken only the fasteners pathological (due to fungus), which ensure the adhesion of the nail to its bed. This weakening allows detachment of the selective of the abnormal portion of the nail, making it easy to its cutting and therefore its elimination, in view of the antifungal treatment later.

IN WHAT CASES IS IT NOT NECESSARY TO USE ONYSTER® ?

If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the components. In the absence of data, it is best not to combine it with other products for local application. Do not use without the prior opinion of a health professional.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS Of USE AND warnings :

• In the event of a hypersensitivity reaction (allergy), stop the application and prevent your doctor.
• Do not swallow.
• Do not use on broken skin.
• Wash hands after use.
• Do not apply near eyes, nor on mucous membranes.
• The dressings are for single use only, do not reuse.
• Do not use if the packaging is damaged, or if it is the first opening you see that the tube does not have gate.
• Do not let the reach of children.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS ?

This medical device can in some people cause effects more or less bothersome : redness, irritation, maceration, desquamation (elimination in the form of small films that are shed from the surface of the skin), possibility of allergy, dryness of the skin. Any other undesirable side effect must be reported to the manufacturer.
